Post Survivor Title

So i am going for Max Survivor with an assassin. And i read the whole page on wiki on the title and ways you die and what counts and doesn't. But i wanted to know from somone who has completed this title or has gotten very close. What would you say is a good way to get exp but at the same time is very safe. And no i will not do Killroy's Dungeon. Its to Chancey for me, putting this much effort and then failing just isnt in me haha. So some advice would be great and highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

If your not doing Killroys, Just go through the game doing all quests possible for maximum exp. Just go slower then usual and watch agro more carefully.

I made it to level one with my sin (just got there not too long ago)...I picked a 2ndary that I could use for heals etc (I picked rit) and had some help with the final mission on the starter island (that rit boss is just too powerful). Did that mission with a friend who knew I was working on survivor and took on that boss without me.
I did ALL of the quests on the starter island I was well above the level of the first mission before I did it too....I was extra careful. I killed off more low level stuff to level up before doing quests ...etc...

...then got to eye for some cheap high level heroes....did all the fed ex quests out of Kaineng....I plan on doing the easy quests in the jungle and desert of prophecies. Not sure how to get legendary yet (still working on that with my ele --680k, get tired of killing wurms outside boreal).....

hope that helps some

This. Also a plus is to use Protective Bond constantly, and possibly cover with Mending if you so choose to do that.

This as well, as long as you're level 20. Stock up on Signets of Capture while skills cost less than 1k/ea.

This is pretty good advice. Although, if you're using JUST heroes & henchmen, you could be lazy and get just within range to gain EXP, but take no aggro.

Good luck finding sellers. If you do find any, they're extremely pricey.

I was able to get Rank 3 (Legendary Survivor, max rank) by getting to level 10, and quickly going to Gunnar's Hold. I did Kilroy's until level 20, and not a minute more than that. (Since I would then be at risk for going completely bonkers...) (Canthan character, so I had already done my two 15-attribute quests). After that, I did the Asuran side quests (with help from friends) to get Livia. Then I got Olias (from Lion's Arch), and then went part-way through Nightfall to get Master of Whispers.

You can see where this is going. Get the runes, weapons, and skills, and you'll have a far easier time with a Discordway/Sabway Team of heroes. (Or you could use whatever you deem best-working).

If you decide to take my course, up until you have the heroes, I would suggest taking 3 healers in any 8-party group. If you have to, micro-manage a hero monk to cast Protective Spirit on you and keep it up. (Or for that matter, have them cast Protective Bond on you and maintain it. It will be much easier if you cast it on yourself, though. Makes their energy management a lot easier - so if/when Protective Bond is stripped, they'll still have energy to save you).

A lot of thinking goes into getting your character to the max survivor rank. (Unless you're a mindless drone who does Kilroy or Wurms day in and day out..Not my cup of tea). If you can get friends to help you, that's great. Though be warned: human players are generally "better" than henchmen, but henchmen have a much faster response time. (Or you could let your friend rush ahead while you hang back and pretend your arthritis is flaring up). [Kudos & points to whoever can catch that reference].

In any case - I wish you luck in your oxymoronic feat. (An assassin with Legendary Survivor is considered to be an oxymoron.) :P

You gotta be kidding. I have made 2 survivors with brawling method. This method is cheap, easy, fast, safe. DC and bad luck of not closing off once dc is about the only thing that will ruin it. I REALLY urge you to reconsider this. Gunnars is extremely easy to get to, especially in for a Faction character. And really, what effort is wasted just getting there. Kilroy is extremely ezy, even in HM, I can do 8min completion consistently in HM, yielding ~42k w/ slayer scrolls.

Here are some tips I can offer for brawling:
+ I recommend the you have equipment said in wiki. Make A your secondary for dagger mastery. If warrior can also place in strength.

+ Hotkey at least two keys to skill 8. When down press the two simultaneously while also clicking skill 8. You can get the maximum energy possible and still get back up with time left. If not comfortable, leave to Gunnars.

+ Try to attack same target as Kilroy.

+ Try to get aggro onto you not Kilroy, he doesnt regain HP after kills like you do. Stick close to Kilroy but not far from him. With that also in mind, kill anything attack Kilroy.

+ Taking the aggro away from Kilroy's corpse revives him. Take this also in advantage to restore his HP. If you feel like it, allow Kilroy to die at end of fights when he is at low HP. He then has full HP at the start of the next.

+ The large circle fight (probably the most difficult part):
+Enter in with Kilroy or use flatbow to get the aggro. Its best if Kilroy and you both start fighting at the same time. For good completion time, it is best if you or Kilroy do not die in this circle fight before the 1st boss.
+If Kilroy does ever die, take aggro away from Kilroy's corpse, THIS REVIVES HIM. You can then move aggro back to Kilroy and gain stability in the fight.
+Usually death occurs when fighting first boss, not a problem, keep attacking his minions and revive Kilroy to help you.

Get good armor, get a good build that you know how to use, understand aggro and monster AI, use heroes and hench since they don't lag, know pop ups and patrols. Not hard if you know how to play and play carefully.

A lot of people consider Kilroy to be the sucky method of getting LS. I'm not gonna start on that whole thing, but suffice it to say I did LS via Kilroy, and now I'm doing a second not via Kilroy.

Basically as one of posters above mentioned, if your party size is 8, put in 3 monks. Grab Tahlkora, and Dunkoro asap. I generally rune Tahl as a prot monk (Life Sheath ftw), and rune Dunk as a heal monk (Glimmer or WoH depending on your preferences), and then I'll often take Mhenlo as the 3rd monk.

What I have found to be pretty successful is to try where possible to pick up the ZMission and ZBounties, and do them where possible. Most ZB's for EoTN Dungeon's give over 15,000 XP (including the dungeon quests).

Once you get ascended (Nahpui 1/4 ftw), another option is do to Fissure of Woe in NM. A full run will easily get you over 50,000XP (with all the quests), and lots of shards to boot. All you need is a friend with some hero's, just watch out for Empathy and Spiteful Spirit.

I've maxerd it twice and got to r2 on a third before I came to my senses and deleted the char.

Gunnars isn't risky. When you get knocked down for the third time, get up and map to your guild hall. You effectively get three lives every time you enter. Drop down to zero health anywhere else and you have to start survivor all over again. It's the safest and fastest way to max the title. It can be maxed in NM as well (although you may not hang onto your sanity).

For the second survivor I just played the game. I finished the three campaigns and didn't even hit r2. I flounced about in Sorrow's Furnace for a while but it's not very exciting.

Zaishen mission and bounty help.

Regardless of what method you use, it will get dull if that is all you do. Mix it up a bit. Here are some general hints though:

Learn how to map quickly to your GH.
Set a boundary for when to map (at a certain health limit. Once you know a comfortable limit the gameplay is more fun and less stressful)
Get max armour as soon as you can.
Always take a hero/hench with lower health and/or armour than you (so you can break aggro).
H/H as much as you can (sounds counter intuitive, but it's quicker to map to your GH if you are the only player. It also sucks playing with someone who is running a survivor).
Use XP scrolls.
Be patient. It takes ages.
It's a lot easier to get survivor on a profession that you know well.

It depends on where you want to get the title for. Don't you give a shit about the tittle and do you only want it for GWAMM, then I suggest you go Kilroy boxing or buy Kathandrax Hammers. If you do care about the tittle and want it for yourself to reward your achievement, then do it the original way, by playing the game. Get some prots on you and do all the quests that give alot of XP. The best places to get LS fast are Factions and Eye of the North. There are high reward quests. Also indeed FoW is a good place to get your survivor title, as with good heroes it's not so tough and you get lotsa hp. Just make sure that the person you are playing with knows you are a survivor. Good luck

I tend to do every quest in nightfall and factions. (Okay, maybe not all, i skipped the drink from the chalice, luxon, desolation, and torment area).

First I do factions -> nightfall -> eotn -> prophecies maybe. by the time im at eotn i have 950k~ exp. you just need to find/make a quest route that allows you to finish a lot of quests at the same time in a short amount of time.

for example picking up The Xunlai Agent quest and keeping it until you get Eliminate the Jadebrotherhood/Am Fah. Then when you do the eliminate quests, get the storage, kill chung, then jade boss guy thats around the corner.

Don't forget to take the books if you are completing campaigns I recently finished all the 3 campaigns + eotn in nm with a survivor (without doing most of the side quests - cept for some that give a lot of xp, like "anything you can do" - and with doing only few skill caps) and I ended quite close to r3 (around 300k to go, if I remember correctly).

It's also a good a idea to NOT ascend in Cantha, or NF for that matter (i.e. Do not do the Nahpui mission, do not complete the Hunted! quest).

Best to ascend in Prophecies = the Augury Rock misison, which gives you 50k xp if you complete the bonus - but only if you have not ascended in another campaign.

Once you arrive at Kaineng, travel to EotN and NF to get your heroes, fight your way from LA to Sanctum Cay.
Do that mission + the 3 desert missions => Augury Rock mission, you're Ascended

After that, as others have said:- either play the game normally, completing books, or (what I did) complete every possible in Cantha and NF + missions, skill cap like crazy (NF is a great start for capping, after you have access to Sunspear Sanctuary as a central starting point).
Don't forget to take bounties when in NF.

Oh, another skill you could give your hero monk to cast/maintain on you is Vital Blessing. Increases your health, might make you less of a target (just watch for enchantment stripping). It might be a bit cheesy, but my 1st two survivors wouldn't step foot outside without it (once you learn to adjust your playstyle to "surviving" you tend not to worry with it, but I was more than a tad paranoid with my 1st survivor)

Also maybe use tomes to learn skills you may have unlocked with other character.

Good luck, have fun.

100% safe way is buying hammer and have someone run to the dungeon then u just zone and collect...i think once u hit r10 (to get to eotn) its 179 hammers...expensive but only safe way...unless u wanna bash wurms outside boreal which is truly dull.

I did 2 leg. survivors, one with Kilroy and one with simply playing Guild Wars. The latter is much more fun.
If you want this way and start from Factions as assassin, I suggest this:

- melee fighters have a hard time as survivors. Do a Barrage A/R instead and "emulate" a ranger. So choose ranger as secondary class and unlock Barrage with the use of a elite ranger tome. There are nice builds for assassins that support fighting without daggers, using the Critical Strikes attribute for energy management very efficiently.
- do all of the quests on the tutorial island including all of the secondary class quests.
- buy a better armour any time as you see a new armour crafter it in the next outpost. Upgrade that armour with a +50 health rune and additional health-increasing runes. Only minor attribute runes. Remember: the enemy AI prioritizes party members with the lowest health. Increase your health and you are less likely to be the priority target. If you got new armour, use perfect salvage kits to transfer the runes and insignia to the new armour.
- on the main land (you should be around level 18-19), buy the max. armour in Kaineng city
- head over to Boreal Station in EOTN to get Ogden and Vekk
- head over to the Eye of the North outpost to get Gwen.
- head over to Nightfall and get the initial Nightfall heroes
- head over to Prophecies (only Lions Arch)
- get a taxi to the Consulate docks and get the quest for Olias
- perform the quest to get Olias. Skill Olias as minion master, Ogden as healer and Vekk as fire ele. Take Olias, Ogden and Vekk as hero team.
- do the Nightfall quests until "A Land of Heroes". Use this quest to farm Sunspear points until you accumulated 1000.
- get the Assassin Sunspear skill Critical Agility in the Great Sunspear hall
- level your Nightfall heroes by putting them into your party whenever you get a quest reward. Use the many quests in the Kaineng area for this.
- Begin capping elite skills. Cap every elite skill from areas you cross from now on.
- As soon as Olias reaches level 20, continue the Factions story line until Nahpui quarter. Now you are able to change your secondary class and capping even more elite skills.
- continue the Nightfall story line. Choose Jin and Master of Whispers as heroes. (you don't need Sousuke yet since you have Vekk, and Necro heroes are invaluable)
- As soon as you got Master of Whispers, skill him as a curses necro with a Spiteful Spirit build and take him instead of Vekk
- Play through Nightfall up to the end. Skip Dasha Vestibule.
- Play through Factions but skip the last mission with Shiro. It's not that difficult, but the risk of dying is high. So skip it.
- Play though EOTN. Never even approach Molotov Rocktail in the Dalada Uplands. He's quite explosive. If you start with the norn PQ and continue with the Asura PQ's, you should have reached leg. survivor by now - somewhere in the middle of the Asura PQ's.
